Jokowi - Ma'ruf Campaign Team Takes Up Votes to the US

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The campaign team of Jokowi - Ma'ruf led by Muhammad Lutfi Sunday, February 10 departed to the United States to gather votes in Philadelphia. A total of 4,000 Indonesian citizens live in the city.
During a meeting in McKean, South Philly, Indonesian people expressed concerns about casting a ballot in the upcoming election.
Aldo Siahaan, who lived in Philadelphia for a long time, asked the team to assure their security should they support Jokowi. “Because we feel threats, we are afraid to cast a ballot,” said Aldo as noted in a press release received in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 12.

Muhammad Lutfi shortly explained how Indonesian managed the security in the past when many ethnic Chinese fled from Indonesia in 1998 and the current security measure.
